Though Kim Kardashian couldn’t make the trip to New York City, where Yeezy is scheduled to headline Governor’s Ball, the 36-year-old rapper rang in his birthday with a low-key party that included big-name stars like Jay-Z, Beyonce and many others.
We’re sure Kanye West’s “Birthday Song” was blaring on Saturday, June 8 in New York City when the rapper celebrated his 36th birthday. His mommy-to-be Kim Kardashian wasn’t able to make it to the soiree, but Kanyewas joined by huge celebrity friends for his birthday bash.

Yeezy filed into Miss Lily’s, a restaurant in New York, on June 8 and was joined by Jay-Z, Beyonce, JonathanCheban, Scott Disick, and David Blaine. Kanye is spending the weekend in NYC because he is set to headline the annual music festival, Governor’s Ball on Sunday, June 9. We’re sure he would’ve loved to spend his birthday with Kim, but he wanted to honor his commitment to appear at NYC’s biggest music festival, which also featured the Kings of Leon, Nas, Guns N’ Roses, and many other acts.
Miss Lily’s is a unique Caribbean restaurant in downtown Manhattan that is run by the Jakupi brothers, the owners of prominent nightclubs such as 1Oak and Bungalow 8. So while Kanye and company didn’t exactly have a rager for his birthday, they did have a fun party with amazing island cuisine.

Obviously Kanye was missing his main squeeze Kim, who has been grounded from flying as her due date approaches. But Kim’s thoughts were clearly with Kanye on his big day.
Earlier on June 8, Kim tweeted an amazingly romantic message to her man. “Happy Birthday to my best friend, the love of my life, my soul!!!! I love you beyond words!” Kim wrote, along with a photo collage of her favorite moments with Kanye.
