Chris Brown's neighbours have complained about the "devil" artwork painted on the side of his Beverly Hills mansion, saying its "scaring children".

The neighbours claim the garish, sharp-toothed goblins, which are painted along the retaining wall of his Californian home, are ruining the community's aesthetic and upsetting local children.

"There are lots of babies, lots of children, and they're literally frightened," neighbour Patti Negri told the LA Times. "It's like devils on the wall — big scary eyes and big scary teeth, and just the whole vibe is not what we're used to."

City officials responded to the complaints about Superstar Brown's monster art and fined the singer $376 (£244) for unpermitted and excessive signage. Brown has 30 days to remove the graffiti art, but his lawyer Mark Geragossays the chart topping musician is not backing down.

Geragos alleges that Brown's neighbours are harassing him and says he has had parking complaints made against him and animal control called out to his property. He said: "I'm scared of neighborhood busybodies like this. They've called animal control. They have sicced parking [enforcement] on him, and now they reached the heights of ridiculousness here. Shame on them."
